FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH At OS
It’s damned important to take care of your heart for living a long and healthy life. Your “heart age” may in fact be older than you are.
According to Stats Canada, heart disease is the next cause of mortality in the country behind cancer. It accounts for nearly one in five deaths. It is therefore important to take care of your heart to live a long and healthy life. But did you know that your heart may actually be older than you are?
If you have one or more cardiovascular risk factors, your heart may actually be older than you! For example, even if you are only 55, your heart could be the same age—and therefore be at the same risk for heart attack—as someone who is 65!
There are a multiple factors that can impact the health of your heart and increase your risk of having a cardiac event. Some of these factors are beyond your control:
- Your age
- Your gender (men are at higher risk than pre-menopausal women)
- Your family history of cardiac disease (parents, brother, sister)
Other risk factors, on the other hand are controllable, meaning it is possible to make changes to reduce their impact on your heart:
- Smoking
- Diabetes
- High blood cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Lack of physical activity
- Excess weight
- Alcohol
Rejuvenation is possible for your heart and reduce your risk of heart disease by taking steps to alter these controllable risk factors. For example you should carefully follow your diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol treatments . Best to adopt healthy lifestyle habits such as 10,000 steps per day. A young heart ❤️ is a healthy heart .

Yes , there is a gap in benefits of Quercetin as you can see. None of these have actually been proven medically . Quercetin has been touted lately in combination with Vitamin C , D3, and Zinc tablets to fight off the so called seasonal flu and its variants. The “Gun” that shoots the bullets into the cells to stop the virus enzyme from helping the virus replicate. So you have a gun and the bullets. Only the synergy of the two creates a functioning unit. Yes, Quercetin can create a zinc ionphore . But Organic Sulfur’s main function is to actually let you cells permeate ( open and close ) to receive the benefits of Vitamin C, D3 and Zinc tablets if this is what you are looking for . Perhaps OS is the perfect “gun”. Quercetin can be purchased over the counter and should only be taken for a short time , max 12 weeks . It’s side effects are nausea , vomiting , headaches . Organic Sulfur for Weight Loss
The question is :
Does OS Help With Weight Loss?
There are currently no clinical studies on Organic Sulfur and weight loss, only some testimonials from clients who say they think OS has helped them to lose weight.
Organic Sulfur is most commonly used to reduce inflammation, according to the Arthritis Society .Obesity has been linked to inflammation, which is why some people think reducing inflammation may help with weight loss. However, the connection isn’t 100% clear, and there’s no evidence that taking supplements to reduce inflammation can help you shed that fat.
There’s some evidence that Organic Sulfur supplements can help with muscle and joint pain, including muscle recovery after working out and the achy joints that come with arthritis. Because of this, some people believe taking Organic Sulfur can make physical activity easier, drawing a direct link between more exercise and weight loss. While this is a good possibility, there hasn’t been any research to prove this idea. And accordingly we need more evidence to really know both the benefits and risks.
Some research in animals suggests Organic Sulfur can assist with proper production and regulation on obesity related insulin levels. It’s impossible to say whether these results would be the same in humans. Additionally there’s no guarantee that better controlling insulin or blood sugar would lead to weight loss. It does help balance acid , enzyme and hormonal levels .
In short, there’s just not enough research to say whether sulfur supplements have benefits specifically for weight loss, and there’s no way to know if there’s a correct of OS dosage for weight loss. On the other hand there is no evidence of weight gain by taking Organic Sulfur.
Prostate Cancer Awareness
Men, your prostate is a walnut-shaped gland that is located between the bladder and penis. This gland is responsible for protecting and nourishing the sperms and contributes to the semen count. Abnormal growth in the prostate gland can either be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).
Among men ,prostate cancer is one of the most common cancer types. It develops when abnormal cells in the prostate gland multiply and accumulate to form a tumour.
Screening and early detection play a very crucial role in the management of prostate cancer as the disease can be managed in the early stages through minimal medical intervention. Hence, being aware of the risk factors, early warning signs, screening and treatment methodologies are crucial to manage it and reduce morbidity. Yes death .
News update Methylsulfonylmethane (Organic Sulfur) induces apoptosis and decreases invasiveness of prostate cancer cells.
Karolina Kowalska et al. Environ Toxicol Pharmacol. 2018 Dec.
A major challenge in the management of prostate cancer (PC) is to limit tumor growth and metastases. Targeted therapies applying natural compounds might be potentially useful in PC treatment. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), also known as organic sulfur, is a dietary supplement used for various clinical purposes, mostly known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, we decided to evaluate the effect of MSM on PC cells LNCaP, PC3 and DU-145 which represent different in vitro models of PC. We observed that MSM decreases the viability and invasiveness of PC cells through the induction of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in the G0/G1 cell cycle phase. Moreover, MSM in a low dose (200 mM) is able to reduce the migration and invasion of PC cells. Considering the low overall body toxicity and insignificant side effects of MSM, its apoptosis-inducing properties might be used in PC treatment in the future.
Is poor sleep depriving your body?
Is poor sleep depriving your body ?
Of course it is ! It drains both your physical and mental abilities . Studies have linked poor slumber habits with just about everything from weight gain to a weakened immune system.
So you’ve spent the night tossing and turning, you already know how you’ll feel the next day, basically … tired, cranky, and in a funk. But missing out on doctor recommended 8 hrs of sleep does more than make you feel groggy and act like a grump.
You must realize that long-term effects of sleep deprivation are very real.
Sleep deprivation is caused by consistent lack of sleep or reduced quality of sleep. Getting less than six hours of sleep on a regular basis can eventually lead to health consequences that affect your entire body. This may also be caused by an underlying sleep disorder.
Your body needs sleep in just as much as it needs air and food to function 100% . With a good nights sleep your body heals itself and restores its chemical balance. Your brain forges new thought connections and helps memory retention. Ask anyone studying for exams .
Without enough sleep, your brain and body systems will not function properly. It can also seriously lower your quality of life increases the risk of premature death.
Signs of sleep deprivation are pretty obvious to most adults . No need to list them.
Stimulants, such as coffee aren’t enough to kick start your body’s profound need for sleep. In fact, these can make sleep deprivation worse by making it harder to fall asleep at night.
This, in turn, may lead to a cycle of night time insomnia followed by daytime caffeine consumption to combat the tiredness caused by the lost hours of shut-eye.
Behind the scenes, chronic sleep deprivation can interfere with your body’s internal systems and cause more than just the initial signs and symptoms listed above.
Central nervous system
Your central nervous system is the main information highway of your body. Sleep is necessary to keep it functioning properly, but chronic insomnia can disrupt how your body usually sends and processes information.
During sleep, pathways form between nerve cells in your brain that help you remember new information you’ve learned. Sleep deprivation leaves your brain exhausted, so it can’t perform its duties as well.
You may also find it more difficult to concentrate or learn new things. The signals your body sends may also be delayed, decreasing your coordination and increasing your risk for accidents.
Sleep deprivation also negatively affects your mental abilities and emotional state. You may feel more impatient or prone to mood swings . This can compromise decision-making processes and creativity.
If sleep deprivation continues long enough, you could start having hallucinations — seeing or hearing things that aren’t really there. A lack of sleep can also trigger maniain people who have bipolar mood disorder. Other psychological risks include:
- impulsive behaviour
- anxiety
- depression
- paranoia
- suicidal thoughts
You may also end up experiencing micro sleep during the day. During these episodes, you’ll fall asleep for a few to several seconds without realizing it.
Micro sleep is out of your control and can be extremely dangerous if you’re driving. It can also make you more prone to injury if you operate heavy machinery at work and have a micro sleep episode.
Immune system
While you sleep, your immunize system produces protective, infection-fighting substances like antibodies and cytokines. It uses these substances to combat foreign invaders such as bacteria and viruses.
Certain cytokines also help you to sleep, giving your immune system more efficiency to defend your body against illness such variant of the recent C 19 virus.
Sleep deprivation prevents your immune system from building up its forces. If you don’t get enough sleep, your body may not be able to fend off invaders, and it may also take you longer to recover from illness.
Long-term sleep deprivation also increases your risk for chronic conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease.
Respiratory system
The relationship between sleep and the respiratory system goes both ways. A night time breathing disorder can interrupt your sleep and lower sleep quality.
As you wake up throughout the night, this can cause sleep deprivation, which leaves you more vulnerable to respiratory infections like the common cold and flu. Sleep deprivation can also make existing respiratory diseases worse, such as chronic lung.
Digestive system
Along with eating too much and not exercising, sleep deprivation is another risk factor for becoming overweight and obese. Sleep affects the levels of several hormones, which control feelings of hunger and fullness.
Leptin tells your brain that you’ve had enough to eat. Without enough sleep, your brain reduces leptin and raises an appetite stimulant. The influx of these hormones could explain night time snacking or why someone may overeat later in the night.
A lack of sleep can also make you feel too tired to exercise. Over time, reduced physical activity can make you gain weight because you’re not burning enough calories and not building muscle mass.
Sleep deprivation also causes your body to release less insulin after you eat. Insulin helps to reduce your blood sugar (glucose) level.
Sleep deprivation also lowers the body’s tolerance for glucose and is associated with insulin resistance. These disruptions can lead to diabetes mellitus and obesity.
Sleep affects processes that keep your heart and blood vessels healthy, including those that affect your blood sugar, blood pressure and inflammation levels. It also plays a vital role in your body’s ability to heal and repair the blood vessels and heart.
People who don’t sleep enough are more likely to get cardiovascular disease. One study linked insomnia to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
Endocrine system
Hormone production is dependent on your sleep. For testosterone production, you need at least 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep, which is about the time of your first R.E.M. episode. Waking up throughout the night could affect hormone production.
This interruption can also affect growth hormone production, especially in children and adolescents. These hormones help the body build muscle mass and repair cells and tissues, in addition to other growth functions.
The pituitary gland releases growth hormone throughout each day, but adequate sleep and exercise also help the release of this hormone.
Treatment for sleep deprivation
The most basic form of sleep deprivation treatment is getting a reasonable amount of sleep typically 7 to 9 hours each night.
This is often easier said than done, especially if you’ve been deprived of precious shut-eye for several weeks or longer. After this point, you may need help from your doctor or a sleep specialist who, if needed, can diagnose and treat a possible sleep disorder.
Sleep disorders may make it difficult to get quality sleep at night. They may also increase your risk for the above effects of sleep deprivation on the body.
The following are some of the most common types of sleep disorders:
- obstructive sleep apnea
- narcolepsy
- restless leg syndrome
- insomnia
- circadian rhythm disorders
To diagnose these conditions, your doctor may order a sleep study. This is traditionally conducted at a formal sleep centre, but now there are options to measure your sleep quality at home, too.
If you’re diagnosed with a sleep disorder, you may be given medication or a device to keep your airway open at night (in the case of obstructive sleep apnea) to help combat the disorder so you can get a better night’s sleep on a regular basis.
Prevention
The best way to prevent sleep deprivation is to make sure you get adequate sleep. Follow the recommended guidelines for your age group, which is 7 to 9 hours for most adults ages 18 to 50. The older you get the less sleep you really need as your bones are not growing .
Other ways you can get back on track with a healthy sleep schedule include:
- limit alcohol consumption ( that glass of wine is not really helping)
- refraining from coffee / tea past noon
- going to bed at the same time each night
- waking up at the same time every morning, no sleeping in till noon
- try sticking to your bedtime schedule during weekends and holidays
- spending an hr before bed doing relaxing activities, such as reading, meditating, or take a bath
- have a healthy sex life
- avoid heavy evening meals
- refraining from surfing the net on your phone right before bed
- exercise regularly, but not in the evening hours close to bedtime
If you continue to have problems sleeping at night and are fighting daytime fatigue, talk to your doctor. They can test for underlying health conditions that might be getting in the way of your sleep schedule.
*How do you get to sleep in 2 mins ?
So this is where the so called ‘military method’ comes in. It’s an old hack that’s been tried and tested by the US army who say it does the job in just *two* minutes. The technique is explained in a 1981 book called Relax and Win: Championship Performance, and it explains the method was developed by army chiefs to address the issue of soldiers getting too tired or exhausted. The stakes in this situation are obviously very high. They were taught to sleep anywhere anytime.
- Relax your face muscles, tongue, jaw and the muscles around the eyes
- Lower your shoulders as far down as they’ll go, then do the same with your upper and lower arm, one side at a time
- Exhale, relaxing your chest then move down to your legs, starting from the thighs
Apparently, after six solid weeks of practice this will work for 96% of people who try the technique.
This information has been provided by Organic Sulfur OS . When taking Organic Sulfur avoid before bed as your energy levels will be higher because of it. Organic Sulfur repairs your body during the day and sleep works during the night shift. Now enjoy your sleep because it’s like a time machine to breakfast !
How Exercise makes you Younger using the Science
How Exercise can make you Younger using the Science
Can exercise be the so called fountain of youth? Scientific research shows that exercise’s powerful impact on our physical and mental health can in fact slow down the aging process and you can become a Super ager . Let’s look at how exercise makes you younger, one cell at a time.
Expand your energy efficiency
For example ,can running make you younger? Some studies suggests it might. They have found that older adults who regularly participate in highly aerobic activities such as running or biking have a lower metabolic cost of walking than sedentary adults ( couch potatoes) .
So what does this mean? As we get older, if we are active, we can maintain our ‘horsepower,’ or fuel economy. This suggests that those who exercise can maintain a better quality of life because of their ability to move around easily.
Makes your Skin youthful
By increasing blood flow, sending more oxygen and eliminating waste, exercise keeps your skin cells healthy and vital. Organic Sulfur’s main attribute is to increase cellular permeability.
Researchers asked sedentary volunteers to work out for thirty minutes, twice a week, at three quarters of their maximum heart rate. After three months, test results on their non-exposed skin, which had shown normal signs of aging before the study started, resembled those of a thirty five year old.
How you ask? Well , through simply increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and keep them healthy and vital by sending more oxygen to them and carrying away waste. Additionally, when we sweat, our pores open and release the build up inside of them. Your sweat purges the body of toxins that would otherwise clog up pores and cause blemishes. Oxygen is the key and we know Organic Sulfur brings an increase to all your cells . It’s known as Mother Nature’s therapeutic beauty mineral for its cellular regeneration ability.
Improves your posture
Due to muscle loss and bone density changes as you age, your ability to keep a healthy posture starts to decline . You’ve seen the rounded backs of elderly.
By strength training either by using resistance bands, weights or aerobic exercise, such as swimming, you can rebuild muscle and prevent bone loss.
Taking care of your core and your spine has the added benefit of keeping your body and joints strong, and your taller posture will shave years off of your appearance. Organic Sulfur helps reduce inflammation of your joints .
Improve Body Flexibility
Basically any type of exercise, including both aerobic and anaerobic exercise, can improve our flexibility, Yoga and Pilates in particular are highly effective safe way of increasing flexibility as you grow older. That is the perfect reason to try it. By increasing your flexibility, you can reduce the risk of injuries , such as life altering hip injuries ,as you age, increasing your chances of living a longer, healthier life and becoming a Superager.
Boosts mental capacity
Studies show that regular exercise boosts the area of the brain that’s responsible for learning and memory.
Numerous studies show that regular aerobic exercise boosts the size of the hippocampus, the area of the brain that’s responsible for memory and learning. Those who exercise may literally have the brain of a younger person, making it easy for them to continue learning and maintain sharp mental health for years longer than those who are sedentary and do not get regular, aerobic movement on a daily basis.
Additionally ; all types of exercise promote the health and survival of brain cells as well as the growth of new blood vessels in the brain.
Keeps our metabolism high
As we age, our metabolism naturally slows down. If your weight increases overly, we put our bodies at higher risk for diabetes, heart disease and other serious health issues.
The more muscle mass we have, the quicker our bodies burn calories. So by exercising and keeping your body strong, we are better able to maintain a healthy weight and reduce our chances of sickness and disease.
Slows cellular aging
Exercise doesn’t just make you look younger. Exercise makes you younger period. How? By turning off the aging process in your chromosomes. In order to stay young, you have to keep your cells young. Researchers have found that exercise can keep DNA healthy and young.
The caps at the end of our chromosomes that are responsible for aging, get shorter as we get older. Recent studies have shown a link between regular exercise and lengthening of the telemores, which suggests that exercise may literally be able to slow our aging clocks down and help us live longer.
Relieves the stress
If exercise is the fountain of youth, stress is the demise . Experts say that one of the keys to living a long, happy, healthy life is the ability to reduce stress and anxiety and move forward after unsuccessful events.
A trait geriatricians call “adaptive competence” describes our ability to bounce back after something stressful happens. Without it, research shows that a high stress level can have an enormous impact on our longevity, shedding years off of our lives. Eyurp !
Exercise reduces stress, making it more likely that we will live longer enjoyable lives.
Reducing your cancer risk
Some studies suggest that regular, moderate exercise may reduce the risk of certain cancers . Studies have showed regular physical activity can reduce the risk for colon cancer in men by about by 25 %. Other studies show that regular exercise may reduce the risk of lung cancer by up to 20 %. Plus, once diagnosed, exercise may help keep cancer from spreading. Cancer doesn’t live in overly oxygenated cells.
